Match Commissioner

The Match Commissioner is NECL's official on the ground. You arrive before anyone else, leave after everyone else, and file the report that becomes the permanent record of that fixture.

You are the tie-breaker on any operational question at the venue — from goalline technology to team walkout to media zone access. Clubs, officials and broadcasters all defer to your call within the Regulations.

• Conduct the pre-match venue and pitch inspection with the referee.
• Verify team sheets, player registrations and equipment compliance.
• Supervise the referee team, medical crew, security lead and stadium announcer.
• Enforce NECL matchday protocol — walkouts, anthems, substitutions, technical area conduct.
• File the official Match Commissioner Report within 6 hours of full-time.
• Report all disciplinary incidents to the Head of Football Operations.
• Debrief clubs and officials post-match on any regulation issues.

• 5+ years in one of: football administration, senior refereeing, venue operations or team management.
• Working knowledge of the Laws of the Game and AIFF competition regulations.
• Calm, non-negotiable authority under matchday pressure.
• Willingness to travel across the North-East on weekend match schedules.
• Comfortable filing detailed written reports in English.

• AIFF, AFC or FIFA Match Commissioner certification.
• Prior work with I-League, ISL or state league fixtures.
• Fluency in a regional language of the North-East.

Multi-state — assigned per matchday

• Assigned per matchday across the eight NECL host states.
• Travel, stay and per-diem covered on every assignment.
• Weekend availability is required through the season; weekday fixtures during playoff weeks.
• Home city stated during application is used as your base for assignment planning.

Role-specific

• Per-match fee plus full travel, stay and per-diem.
• NECL Match Commissioner accreditation and matchday access.
• Access to the NECL Officials Development Program.
• Priority consideration for AFC certification sponsorship.
