Marketing Manager

Lead brand campaigns, sponsor activations and matchday fan acquisition for NECL.

About the role

You'll run the campaigns that make NECL feel like the biggest thing to happen to football in the North-East. Season launch, playoff push, final week — you own the calendar and the numbers behind it.

Responsibilities

  • Own the season-long brand calendar and campaign roadmap.
  • Lead sponsor activations in partnership with the Sponsorship team.
  • Drive ticket sales and matchday footfall in coordination with venue partners.
  • Manage agency and freelancer relationships for creative, media and events.
  • Own the marketing budget and weekly performance reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in brand marketing with a track record of full-funnel campaigns.
  • Comfort running paid media across Meta, Google and YouTube.
  • Sharp creative judgement — you know what a great cut, poster or activation looks like.
  • Data-literate — comfortable with GA4, campaign dashboards and simple SQL / Sheets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior in-house at a sports league, club or premium consumer brand.
  • Existing relationships with regional agencies and OOH partners in the North-East.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and lifecycle tools (Braze, MoEngage).

Location

Guwahati, Assam

  • Based full-time at the NECL League Office in Guwahati.
  • Regular travel to host venues during launch, playoff and final windows.
  • On-ground presence required for major sponsor activations across the region.
  • Relocation support offered for candidates outside the North-East.

Benefits

Role-specific

  • Ownership of a marketing P&L from launch.
  • Performance bonus tied to Season 1 fan and ticket targets.
  • Direct access to sponsor and broadcaster planning cycles.
  • Annual learning stipend for a marketing or sports business course.

Every NECL role also includes

  • All-access matchday pass for NECL Season 1 across every host city
  • Annual NECL merchandise kit and player-tunnel drops
  • Health insurance for you and one dependent (full-time roles)
  • Learning stipend for football, media or engineering certifications
  • Domestic travel and stay covered for on-ground work
  • Direct exposure to AIFF, state associations, brand partners and broadcasters
  • Founding-team equity conversations for select senior full-time hires
  • A culture that treats football as craft, not content
