Sponsorship Lead

Build long-term sponsor and partner relationships across the region and beyond.

About the role

You'll open the doors for NECL's biggest commercial partners — title, presenting, category and regional sponsors. You'll pitch, negotiate and steward multi-year deals.

You know that a great sponsorship is a partnership, not a logo placement — and you're excited to build that from a clean slate.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the NECL sponsorship pipeline across title, category and regional tiers.
  • Own the sponsorship deck, sales collateral and pricing framework.
  • Negotiate and close multi-year partnership contracts.
  • Work with Marketing and Media to deliver committed sponsor value each season.
  • Report weekly to the CCO on pipeline, forecast and closed revenue.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in sports rights sales, sponsorship or partnerships.
  • Track record of closing sponsorship deals of ₹1 Cr+ TCV.
  • Existing relationships with brand-side marketing leaders in India.
  • Fluent, confident presenter and negotiator.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work with an IPL / ISL franchise, league or global sports agency.
  • Working relationships in the North-East industrial and consumer brand ecosystem.
  • MBA or equivalent commercial background.

Location

Guwahati / Remote (India)

  • Base of choice: NECL Guwahati office or remote in a major Indian metro.
  • Frequent travel to Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru for brand-side meetings.
  • Attendance required at all NECL playoff and final week hospitality.
  • Company-paid annual sports business conference of your choice.

Benefits

Role-specific

  • Uncapped performance-linked incentive on closed revenue.
  • Direct reporting line to the CCO with founding-team visibility.
  • Full travel budget across India for brand-side meetings.
  • Annual conference and executive-education allowance.

Every NECL role also includes

  • All-access matchday pass for NECL Season 1 across every host city
  • Annual NECL merchandise kit and player-tunnel drops
  • Health insurance for you and one dependent (full-time roles)
  • Learning stipend for football, media or engineering certifications
  • Domestic travel and stay covered for on-ground work
  • Direct exposure to AIFF, state associations, brand partners and broadcasters
  • Founding-team equity conversations for select senior full-time hires
  • A culture that treats football as craft, not content
